Warm Memory:
A fun childhood memory for me is selling peanut M&Ms to all the town cowboys as they practiced their roping skills at the weekend rodeos!

Career Love:
CHANGE: this is what I love about my work! Every day is different - from the colors I mix to the life stories of the beautiful humans that sit in my chair.
I love that I can be all of myself and bring all of my characteristics whether they be quirky, silly or serious to my work space. That's quite fun!

Value I Hold:
Today I am most proud of continuing the chase of heart. I sometimes feel judged that I often don't think in a linear fashion. It's hard for me to settle in and be homies with the concept of contentment. Sometimes this heart of mine leads me down wild paths and as I grow, the head and the heart (cool band) begin to slap high fives and learn to be a place to co-exist!

Slice of the Future:
Heyday, and the amazing humans that are a part of it, truly have most of my energy at this time. I most look forward to what this community will become and all that will play a role in it!

Warm Memory:
I have a lot of pretty special memories of so many animals finding their forever home through me. Somehow they just know and they find me! I love it! Every single time it restores my faith in humanity because so many people help.

Career Love:
I'm in love with my career! I truly enjoy coming to work with all my co-workers and creating with people to make their hair amazing! An important part of my career is the relationship I have with each of my clients!

Value I Hold:
Today I am most proud of my immediate family. We work hard and love each other a lot.

Slice of the Future:
When I am asked about what I look forward to in the future, it is pretty funny because I am super living in the moment with my three babes! One thing that comes to mind is our nation having a female president-NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

One of my favorite memories as a child is watching fire flies and dancing on my dad's feet.

Career Love:
My career as a hair stylist is special to me because of the human connection and making people feel good about themselves!

Value I Hold:
I am proud of my salon family and being a part of the Heyday community! I am also proud of being a part of the Special Olympics. This is a huge part of my life!

Slice of the Future:
I look forward to cats riding unicorns in space...just joking! I truly look forward to health, family, friends and peace.

Warm memory:
Bear with me on this one: when I crashed my mountain bike in a race at 12 years old. I was going down a long rocky hill and the sand at the bottom caught my front tire, sending me over my handle bars into the sand. I get up, bleeding from my arms knees and stomach, my seat is bent, my moms screaming, and my dad runs over to ask if I’m okay, then I tell him fix my seat so I can continue my race. I even sprinted another girl for 2nd place! I ended up winning my overall division and my dad sat me on that first place podium with my legs and arms bandaged, with the biggest most proudest smile and sense of accomplishment you’ve ever seen on a 12 year old.

Career love:
I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist when I graduated from high school, so I went right into it. This career has opened so many doors of creativity, there’s too many to count. I’m always hungry for education and understand how important it is to stay inspired. I’m in awe of the beautiful people that I feel so fortunate to have had in my chair to challenge me, trust me and share their life with me. Connecting with different human beings has turned out to be equally as important as my skills with haircutting and coloring. I really feel so fortunate to be in this career!

Value I hold:
I value myself and you in equal proportions. Clear communication, feeling comfortable, consultation and expectations are my top priority for everyone in my chair. I also use and stand by the color and product I use everyday. I focus on eco-friendly and cruelty free companies that help me bring your vision to life. I am the Oregon ambassador for The Dress Code Project, which offers training to salons to be safer and more inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community. I do not price according to gender, rather length, time, and creative process for all services. Being in the community myself, I know how stressful and anxiety filled going to the salon can be for some folks. When you’re in my chair, rest assured you are safe, heard, and valid.

Slice of the future:
I am a natural planner but over the years have learned to balance a healthy dose of spontaneity. In the future I hope to always stay inspired and be involved in my community. Being able to travel and do hair has always been on my bucket list too!

Warm Memory:
When my dad would pick me up from school, we had a long commute home. He always had the radio playing and he would drum along with Ron Wilson to the song "Wipeout" on the steering wheel. I thought he was such a rockstar! When traffic was extra bad, we would stop at this little diner for a slice of pie, then get back to jammin down the highway...

Career Love:
Like many, I started doing hairstyles on my dolls, then secretly cutting my sister's hair, then not so secretly telling my mom that I NEEDED to try layers on her when I was 12... Friends at childhood sleepovers said I gave "fancy hair washes," and every ballet and dance recital I performed in, I was also backstage doing my team's hair and make-up.
Later in life, I found out that my great grandfather owned a barber shop in the 1930's... it's been in my blood all this time!
I have enjoyed working in salons, barbershops and cosmetology schools across the West Coast.
I literally LOVE just how different every head of hair is and specialize in caring for hair that is extra curly to kinky, extremely coarse and straight, extra long, loc starts and maintenance as well as barbering techniques.

Value I Hold:
Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves, regardless of mental or physical health, gender, sexual orientation, or financial situations. I value being able to share my time and skills with those who may not otherwise be able to access these types of services. All of my wonderful clients who support me make it financially possible to donate and share in this way.

Slice of the Future:
More pets... (3 already,) more plants... (over 70 already,) more good conversation, friendships and lots more LOVE!

Warm Memory:
I have several warm memories. One of them, which you may not realize at all with all the crazy color I have, is that I grew up on a farm. Me and my friends would ride horses in the fields behind my house. There was a big fenced-in stretch that we would race down and people would watch in their cars as they drove alongside us on Fullerton Rd. in Warren. That’s a cool memory.

Another warm and funny memory of mine was realizing I was pregnant with twins! It was the most surreal, hilarious moment because the doctor was so deadpan about it. She literally said in a very monotone with no excitement in her voice, “Well, it looks like you got two.” I thought that that was the funniest thing. I started laughing and said “Holy Sh#!” and my husband was like, “Uh?” and tried to squint at the screen, which obviously you couldn’t really see the little guys at all. We’ll never forget that. I really love being a mom and I’m excited for my kiddos to see what mama does for a living!

Career love:
Believe it or not I fell into hair. I had no desire to be a hairdresser. What got to me was sitting in the classroom and opening the pages to the different facial shapes and the different degrees of a haircut. I then started to realize that there is so much more to being a hairdresser. It’s a science as well as an art.

The other thing that I absolutely love is building a connection with the client sitting in my chair. I have the privilege and honor of listening to people’s stories while creating something for them. I’ve heard stories of their loss and their pain from that experience, but also hear their stories that are filled with excitement and happiness. Not very many people have the privilege of knowing such things.

Value I Hold:
I believe in building and being a part of a community that values trust, openness, safety of others and uplifting each other. If you have those than there’s no reason to hide who you really are. I also believe that family comes in many forms.

Slice of the Future:
I don’t know, this is an interesting one. I used to constantly chase ideas and dreams, but now where I’m at, I still want to chase them but enjoy present moments. I am really looking forward to adventures I’ll have with my kiddos and family… nature walks, camping and discovering new places.

Warm Memory
I grew up on 20 acres of forest, so playing in the woods where I grew up. Learning all the trees and exploring every inch of the property. Building forts with my siblings and carving out wooden staves and swords in our parents’ barn.

Career Love
When people ask me what my favorite service is, the answer has always been whatever makes someone feel most like themselves! I enjoy the transformations and how even just suggesting minor tweaks to the look they already have can completely elevate the style in ways they couldn’t have expected.

Value I Hold
I value always seeing the humanity of others. We are all beautiful and complicated, and there is always good in the bad and vice versa. Everyone holds the immeasurable value of being alive and human. I strive to approach everyone with this in mind.

Slice of the Future
I want to devote more time and energy into creative pursuits both on my own and in collaboration with the lovely and talented people around me. Hoping to do more travel to learn from other hairstylists around the world.

Warm Memory
For me, it’s visiting my grandmummy in Saffron Walden when I was a kid. I grew up in London, but her little town is really what I call home in England. Visiting her and rambling all over the English countryside are the memories closest to my heart.

Career Love
Being an artist! What I love is the challenge each new piece brings. Hair, painting, ceramics, it doesn’t matter. I want to make a beautiful piece of art that sparks joy. And, really, every haircut is unique and an amazing opportunity to do something gorgeous.

Value I Hold
When someone sits in my chair, I want to help them feel good about themselves. I want them to feel like their hairstyle is the perfect reflection of who they are and how they present themselves to the world. Kindness and empathy and joy are so important and I want to help bring more of it into the world.

Slice of the Future
I want to learn more about my art and grow my artistic skills. I don’t want to be standing still with my career and what I can do. Learning and trying new things is my forever goal, because I want to keep making myself better.

Warm Memory
My favorite memories are of playing hide and seek with all my neighborhood friends, running in and out of neighbor’s yards in the warm summer nights.

Career Love

I love educating my clients on how to care for their hair in ways that are easy and accessible so the salon isn’t they only time they like their hair! I love having guests come back and tell me I’ve changed how they view their hair and themselves! Life is hard enough and you’re hair shouldn’t have to be!

Values I hold

Authenticity is key! I spent years of my life trying to fit into places that wanted me to be anything but myself and quickly learned those aren’t the places for me! I’ve learned to love my quirks and embrace the people and places that allow me to flourish! I aim to hold space for those who want to embrace their own uniqueness!

Slice of the future

Building a strong relationship with my community! We can’t get anywhere alone and with support we can all achieve our dreams together!

Warm memory:
I grew up on the Oregon coast but my oldest sister lived in California so every winter break and summer I’d get to go visit her. We would do face masks and makeup and stay up late watching black and white movies and I Love Lucy. It was something I looked forward to every year. She lives in Eugene now and we still do that when I go to visit her.

Career love:
My sister actually got me into becoming an esthetician. I was going to school for nursing and working at a non profit for the homeless population. I felt like I was getting burned out and needed a temporary change. Once I got into esthetics I completely fell in love. I found something that didn’t feel like work, it was enjoyable and I loved what I could do artistically as well as how I could make someone feel good about themselves and beautiful. I never looked back and I still love going to work everyday.

Values I hold:
Love, friendships, compassion, kindness and balance in life are some of my most important values that define me. I feel like I can and have attracted the most amazing people into my life because I stay true to my values and gravitate towards people that have the same.

Slice of the future:
A vaccine and some peace in our strained world that we are living in would be incredible. As for things that I can control, I really look forward to settling in at Heyday and rebuilding my business. I’m also looking forward to finishing my cosmetic tattoo schooling and adding that to my services!

Warm Memory:
When I was little we would take roadtrips from Michigan to Florida. I would walk the beaches at low tide and pick up starfish, seahorses and any other creature I thought could rescue and find them some deeper water. Wading out to sandbars and seeing dolphins or stingrays always made the ocean feel like a magical other world to this little Pisces.

Career Love:
I knew that I loved my career the moment I discovered that the waxing (though an obviously necessary skill!) truly comes second to the connections I make with my clients. To offer kindness, support and even laughter during our sessions helps to ease the anxiety that can come with such an intimate service. I love seeing a new client leave relieved at how “painless” their appointment was, or seeing my return clients time and time again, like old friends.

Value I Hold:
I think simply listening to someone is an invaluable skill that can easily get overlooked these days. Providing that safe space to be heard can foster positive changes for everyone involved.

Slice of the Future:
Honestly, I cannot wait to travel again one day...and often! Otherwise I like taking it day by day and making sure to spend time with the people (and animals and plants) that I love.

Warm memory:
When I was small, I lived in a sleepy town on the Oregon Coast with my brother and my Mom for a time. My Mom is a nature lover, as am I. Whenever there was a beach storm, she would open all the windows to our bedroom so we could smell the fresh sea air and experience the exciting environment outside on our skin and faces.

Career Love:
All of my career choices have centered around the theme of caring for others. As a Nail Technician, not only do I get to care for my clients hands and feet, but I get to live in a land of colorful sparkles, shiny bling and endless possibilities for creative expression! It is so much fun to not only give someone a boost of confidence with well manicured hands, but also to participate in utilizing nails as an extension of their stylishness through unique color and design elements.

Value I hold:
Authenticity is something very important to me, and is a reflection of truth. For me, truth is what truly sets me free...free to speak what is in my heart, free to make choices that reflect my hearts desires, free to be who I truly am inside. I have a great appreciation and encouragement for authenticity, because there is no one in the world that is just like me. And I think the world is a much more colorful, unique, interesting and honest place to be when we are giving ourselves permission to be authentic.
